What school are you graduating from? New Life Academy in Woodbury

What is your horoscope? Aquarius

List the adjectives that best describe you.
Confident, caring, competitive, funny, noble, moral, honest, faithful, loyal.

Now list 4 adjectives that people have used to describe you.
Intelligent, hard-working, natural, elegant.

What is your personal definition of happiness?
Happiness is being the best person you can be and being secure in that person. If you hold yourself to your highest standard and are comfortable with that, your confidence and happiness simply shine through.

What you can't live without?
The answer is easy: my family. They are my biggest support system and have done absolutely everything for me. Their love and encouragement has gotten me through rough times and they are always the people I know I can count on. Without them, I would not be the person I am today.

What are some favorite books you've read? Explain why they're your favorite.
Michael Vey by Richard Paul Evans. One of my favorite books, Evans tells what it's like to be an awkward high-schooler, but maybe with a little something extra. It really drove home the idea that it is okay to be myself and be different than the rest of the people around me.
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. Ever since a young age, The Phantom Tollbooth has held a special place in my heart. The puns and story is delightfully mixed to tell a story of a young boy journeying through a very different world, where Conclusions is an island you can jump to and children start at their normal height and grow down instead of up. Juster's work taught me to look at the world around me a little differently and look at the magic behind my life.

Which school activities or sports are you involved in? Cheerleading and Track & Field

Tell us what your favorite sport or activity is and why.
Track and Field. I love cheering on my teammates while they run, but I especially love running myself and the feeling that nothing can stop me.

Describe your favorite academic experience you've ever had.
At the end of my sophomore year, I was able to win Math Student of the Year, an award chosen by the Math department at my school. It definitely affirmed that my future as a mathematician was a sound choice.

Describe your favorite non-academic experience you've ever had.
My family takes a lot of vacations to DisneyWorld. When I was a little younger, I took each of my grandparents on a roller coaster. The one that Grandma rode with me, my family and I thought that we killed her she looked so pale by the time the ride was over. With Grandpa, let's just say I learned a few words that 13-year-old me hadn't known before. Seeing them be scared while having fun really showed me how human they are and made me relate to them a bit more.

Of which of your accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
I'm extremely proud of where I am today. In the past, I doubted myself and wondered if I was good enough for everything that I was going up against. By doing my best in everything, PR-ing in the 400 meter dash, being a commended scholar by scoring in the top 99% i the PSAT test nationally, and winning a local pageant title, I've really shown that I have the power within myself to do everything and anything I set my mind to. For me, there is no ceiling.

Your most interested majors:
Major #1:
Mathematician
Major #2: Mechanical Engineering
Major #3: Computer Scientist

Your dream job? Sales Engineer

What are your future goals (specific or general)?
Short-term, I would love to letter in both track and field, maintain my straight A status throughout my AP classes, and be the best captain of the football cheer team that New Life Academy has ever seen. Looking a bit more long term, I'd like to graduate from college with a bachelor's of science and work for a company selling their equipment for engineering.

What is the best advice you'd give to a freshman?
Not to care about the people around you and what they think. I've read a great quote: Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. If you care about all the opinions circling around you, you won't be able to see your own opinions and ideas. Have fun being yourself and finding yourself in high school no matter what other people think.

What will you miss most about high school?
Having the opportunity to see my friends each and every day. Being in such a small school, we've really become a family. I can joke with them and see each and every one of them every day. When I go away, I'll make new friends but I don't think I can ever forget the friendships I have right now. I will always miss the ability to be with each and every one of my friends every day.
